PENERAPAN MODEL PENEMUAN TERBIMBING PADA LESSON STUDY PEMBELAJARAN MATERI TRANSFORMASI BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA DI SMP NEGERI 2 GONDANGLEGI

ABSTRAK :  Penelitian ini megkaji manfaat penerapan pembelajaran model penemuan terbimbing  materi transformasi berbantuan geogebra pada lesson study di SMP Negeri 2 Gondanglegi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Dari penelitian diperoleh temuan manfaat pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing berbantuan geogebra pada lesson study bagi siswa: [1] dengan bantuan software  geogebra dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep transformasi yaitu pergeseran dan pencerminan, [2] dengan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing keaktfian siswa dalam belajar meningkat, [3] dengan penemuan terbimbing siswa meninggalkan belajar menghafal rumus. Manfaat bagi peneliti setelah refleksi: [1] apa yang ditulis pada lembar kerja ada yang dipahami berbeda oleh siswa, [2] lesson study sangat bermanfaat untuk melakukan perbaikan kualitas pembelajaran berkelanjutan sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih efektif.

Developing Student’s Book “Basic Algebra” based on Guided Discovery

                                                                    Abstract
The study aims at developing mathematics instructional material  for 7th grades of junior high school. This material is about basic algebra based on  the basic competencies of determining variables, and  characterized by validity, practicality and effectiveness of  guided discovery whose procedure include; Understanding problem, Arranging/processing/organizing data, making conjecture, Stating conjecture, and Testing the understanding of the truth of conjecture.  This research is a development research adopting the four D model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate.  The product testing was conducted  in SMPN 2 Gondanglegi. The compostite score of validation by experts and practisioners showed that the student’s book is valid with content validity of 2.52. The practicality and effectiveness were assessed by two observers using some instruments including lesson plan, feasibility observation sheet, student’s questionnaire, and student’s test in class 7C and 7A. The results showed feasibility for both each class was 2.34 and 2.6 respectively, suggesting the material is practical. Finally, the result of questionnaire and test of students’ mastery indicate hat the student’s book is quite effective. Considering those results, it is expected (1) this book can be applied in teaching and learning activities, (2) it is sugested to provide the answer key and teacher’s guide book, and some parts need to be reworded; (3) it needs to be tested on a wider population.

Dear our esteemed mathematics teachers,
We are glad to announce that this year SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Mathematics will conduct 5 Regular Courses for Primary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School mathematics teachers. Each course is allocated for 20 participants from Indonesia and 10 participants from other SEAMEO member countries. For application, please refer to the following information.


Requirements:
1. Mathematics teachers (or classroom teacher for primary level).
2. Maximum age of 50.
3. Active in KKG/MGMP is preferably (proven by Reference Letter from the head of KKG/MGMP).
4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching. 
5. Possess English proficiency by minimum TOEFL score of 450 or equivalent (proven by TOEFL Certificate).
6. Healthy and not currently pregnant for women (proven by Health Certificate from hospital/medical centre).
